Summer Wash Out

Solstice was typically British. Windy, cold and wet, we were at Cape Cornwall, beautiful in any weather but I would have prefered the sun. The wicker man got burnt and everyone pledged to sacrifice something in the spirit of the dying sun. The feasting part of the day got cancelled so we ate banana sun cakes in the car watching the rain blur the horizon.
We did have a gorgeous sunset last week, the sky seemed to go on forever, striped in every possible shade of purple, pink and grey. One day I will have a DSLR good enough to catch these brief glimpses of perfect.
The chickens have stopped being broody so the eggs are mounting once again. Will have to have omelettes one day this week. Kailen however doesn't like eating eggs as in his mind they are meant to be baby chickens.
The triffid french bean seems to be struggling outside but the tomato's are coming along really well, squashes, hmm not sure what's going on, some are looking good others failing miserably.

Just over 3 months old now and just adorable. Very dribbly and chewy so I think teeth may be on the way already.

The triffid/French Bean has been put in the veg plot now and is about 4ft tall, fingers crossed the slugs leave it alone.

This photo is from yesterday, between then and now it has grown about 6 inches and is trying to escape out of the window.....
