Bizarrely photo 83 is my 38 birthday cake and ring............

I was trying to perfect the camera settings to get a good pic just with the light from the candles and no flash but I had a frantic over excited 3 year old trying to blow out the candles and squeals that should have shattered glass from a 1 year old who has discovered that candles are THE best thing in the whole wide world, so the picture taking had to stop and the cake eating got underway.

I've been a bit slack at getting a picture done every day but I'm hoping that with summer on the way (it is honestly!) I'll do more.

Did lots of gardening stuff yesterday, evicted some strawberries from the greenhouse to outside pots under a cloche, seedling moved from indoors to the greenhouse, beetroot seeds finally arrived on Saturday so they've gone in and more plotting and planning of the veg beds is underway. I'm hoping this week will be the week I get potatos, carrots and parsnips in the field plot.

I've been knitting some slippers for K and cutting out dresses for the shop, hoping to have them done this week as well.

I'm sure my request for an extra day this week has been approved.

Despite the original weekend plans of going away being halted by a sickly boy, had a productive morning and then a lovely afternoon out in the sunshine.

Pics from last couple of days, one is GROSS though so do not scroll down if easily offended (hint~ we have cats!)

We were out in the garden this afternoon transplanting seedlings into bigger pots from their baby trays, we have a fox problem at the moment so I asked K to see where the chickens were......turns out they were in the greenhouse having found THE perfect spot for a dust bath. They were most annoyed at having to share their newfound space with me and babies and seedlings ! 69/36566/365 Just peeking through the hedge68/365 next doors as ours haven't flowered this year, either the bulbs are too shallow (quite probable) or some horrid but hungry bug is eating the bulbs!

67/365 gross I know but this is a very frequent occurance in this house! The blood was glistening in the light I couldn't resist getting the macro lens out.....sorry blog readers!

Lets hope for a baby bunny next time. That's not as weird as it sounds, they do eat the rabbits obviously but with the weeny baby bunnies they tend to want to play with them a while so I get the chance to save them!

Didn't quite get the planned 2 hours uninterupted but in hindsight I did some so little by little I guess. Love 'upcycling' these t-shirts! (these are both 6-9-12 mth size)

Busy bee

This morning kind of worked out OK, I was half an hour 'late' and I got distracted a few times but success! 4 dresses ready to be sewn and the playmat is taking shape. I am dying to order the little Ostheimer bridge from Myriad to go over the river, once you start on that site though there's always something else you NEED!

Newquay Aquarium today, bit over priced but made a change to go out and about.

Taking photos was difficult as no flash allowed, dirty glass and the damn fish kept moving ;)

Have finally started K's farm playmat, got the river and fields cut out last night but dippy here forgot to get the embroidery thread so that will have to wait until next week.

I'm off work for 2 weeks now but as C's overtime has been cancelled I have decided that I will 'work' just at home sewing stuff for the shop :) I may need to put earplugs in though as I'm sure the boys won't understand how to play that game!

Snapped on whatever setting the camera was on! This was last night, asleep on the sofa he sat bolt upright, opened his eyes then just crashed onto a pile of cushions. He stayed like this curled upright until I took him to bed :)

Recycled t-shirt

gets a new lease of life as a funky dress, will put in the shop asap, if you are interested it's 6-9 t-shirt (but would fit 6-12......) :)

A day of seeds and horses

53 Basil seeds sprouting.

Also tomatoes doing well. Planted more today and set spuds to chit. Got 2 tractor bucketfuls of horse manure ready to be spread on parts of the veg bed.

Went to sort the manure and ended up riding one of the horses back home, must sort out a hat that fits!
