Yule

I wish people would stop talking about Father Christmas and how my child must be good or he won't get a visit/gifts from FC? A seemingly innocuous comment has now led K to ask if he has been good all the day as he doesn't want to be bad as people say FC won't come :( It makes me so pissed off, he's 4 has not been subjected to FC/Santa as we don't do it he is a bit bewildered by the whole thing. WE get gifts for the children not some stranger who has been watching all the children all the year.
We do some gifts at Yule and some on the 25th, it spreads them out a bit as too many new things all at the same time overwhelms them and I don't think they appreciate each gift, anyway he had 3 things at Yule and after opening them asked where the rest of his presents were?! Where on earth did that come from?! I've now spent the last couple of days trying to get him to understand that while pressies are nice it should really be about giving something nice to someone you love. I wish I'd done the gratitude tree now! It got shelved as I just didn't have time I wonder if it's too late to start one?

A walk on the beach with new lens filter in place :) I love this picture.

Mini Mei Tais

Gathering stuff to take to the local NCT sale on Saturday I remembered a pattern I'd drawn up for MT's for little ones, armed with new Ikea fabric I've whipped a few up :) The top one is a trial run and my updated pattern is different.
This top one is up for grabs if anyone would like it, the shoulder straps aren't at the right angle and it is a trial run so not perfect but it still works as a child's MT. Leave me a comment or PM me on one of the forums I frequent! If lots of people are interested I'll draw a name at random.
The others are for sale at £5 each.
These are not weight bearing and have been made for use only with dolls/teddies/similar.

Home Ed group is becoming a reality

So my CRB check is through and the CC have said Friday afternnon is available to me if I want it for the Home Ed group. Bit of a pain as it clashes with K's swimming lessons but we will have to work round it. It could be that he moves up a level at the end of this term so that will mean the times/days change anyway.

Need to start organising getting hold of crafty stuff, luckliy there are toys already there which I think we'll be able to utilise for the younger ones.

Been really busy on custom orders so no time for much of anything. Can't make crayon rolls quick enough!

Have almost finished Kailens birthday crown though :)

We are also getting some open shelving from Ikea on the weekend to put the toys on so that will be good, a good de-clutter/donate session and less toys before the season of excess descends.

I've also had to order a load of new clothes we just don't have enough in winter! My lovely clean babies that could wear the same clothes for days have turned into mud and dirty water magnets ad I just can't get it washed and dried quick enough!

Photography wise I've done nothing apart from take photos of orders to put on the shop.

Here is a new fabric order though, all washed and ready to be transformed :)

new knitting

I've got a pair of hand spun Jacon wool shorties almost finished but couldn't resist starting this scarf when the wool arrived.
Pattern is a free one on ravelry and wool is Mirasol, linkys (I keep forgetting how to do the swish 'click the word' links)
Wool here http://www.bdazzlers.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_35&products_id=151

I think I may give it as a Yule gift :)

Crayon Roll

We had a birthday to go to on Sunday and I completely forgot so Sunday morning whipped up this :) I wanted to keep it so may have to make one for the boys lovely wax crayons that came in a tin which is halfway to being demolished.

So easy to make but makes a £2 pack of crayons look FABULOUS ;)

Catch up

The promised rain moved off so we made the most of the afternoon by going on a new walk at Wheal Busy, we weren't sure where to go but came across a field full of lovely alllotments and a pony and a lovely cottage called Foxes Hollow which I quite fancy buying!
The puddle jumping obsession hasn't skipped Edan and he is as excited by them as Kailen was.

Skein of 2 ply Jacob! I've done 2 of these now :)

A gift after the morning rain.

Busy day

Two new chickens named Autumn and Winter :)
Two new skirts almost finished for the shop.
Some photos done for the breastfeeding calender. Another shoot tomorrow :) I'm in dire need of another memory card, do you think it will magically appear in the post tomorrow (along with a niddy noddy!)
Alo got my first full bobbin of plied Jacob, I will skein it and wash it and then actually knit something with it! Not sure how much wool is there weight wise though so it may be a smallish project!
No photos becasue I've been busy spinning.
Other things..cabbages in, variety of lettuces gone into the greenhouse, 90% of tomato plants taken out so looking a bit bare in there.
My butternut squashes as all still really small. Are you meant to restrict the green leafy growth like with tomatos so all the energy gets put inot the squashes? K's pumpkins are non existent they were definately put in too late.
More cabbages to go in and garlic obviously.
Green manure? Maybe if I get time.
